Unethical billing practices

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Jack over bidclerk has been calling me for several years now and I've always declined signing up. Finally one day I decided to give bidclerk a chance for $400 which provided three months of service.

After the three months I incurred a surprise charge for $400 automatically which I was not aware of and I never agreed to a contract. Literally 10 minutes after they charged me unauthorized I called them and asked them what was going on they said that they will not refund the money and I'm stuck with them for another three months no matter what. First of all their service completely sucks that's why I'm not continuing and second of all I do not like their deceitful business practices.

They just give you the runaround no direct answers. I highly recommend you consider other options.

When the old owner was are it was a good service. They have tried to triple my quarterly rate with out asking. I had to cancel my credit card.

Beware. SCAM

Guest

When they were bought by ConstructConect my subscription DOUBLED. I cancelled immediately.

They refused to refund me as well. The service has gone way down hill the last 2 years.

Guest

BidClerk is a Scam

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Used BidClerk for about 5 years, and kept noticing the database was getting further behind than what was actually happening in the market. Wrong contacts, out of date information, stages of projects way behind, etc.

Then they started manipulating the pricing without informing me or my company. Finally had enough, and it took an act of God to cancel my subscription. Then the calls started. I was getting emails and phone calls 3 or 4 times a week wanting me to come back, etc.

It got out of hand, and eventually after many yelling festivals, they backed off. These people are a joke.

Unprofessional, arrogant and rude sales people. BidClerk is a scam, no doubt.

Bidclerk Website Review from Detroit, Michigan

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I called bid clerk and spoke with Greg Asher. He told me if i gave him my credit card # , i could browse their website for free.

He also told me he had several residential jobs which they did not. I told him i wasnt interested, then he charged my credit card in the amount of $495.85 without my permission. I didnt find out until a week later. They sent fraudulent information to my credit card company, and now i am responsible for the amount i did not authorize.

That's just immoral and fraud. Warning to contractors, do not trust bid clerk.com. they are out of Chicago and are not to be trusted. Now, i have to file a lawsuit against them that could take who knows how long.

I have 5 children to feed. And i dont have time for their games. I am a general contractor trying to make a living. They dont care if their taking food from your families mouth.

As long as they are padding their pockets. That's just dirty pool.

I browsed the website once and knew i couldnt use it. Their corrupt.

Similar thing happened to me. Good news is they will be out of business soon as they merged with ISQFT.com - you're lucky they did not charge more. We all should do a class action lawsuit - lots of complaints here.

Getting Lazier & More Expensive

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I've been using Bidclerk for 6+ years (business subscription) & in the past 2 years I've noticed that they've become VERY LAZY.

The mistakes started out small & minimal but quickly escalated into false, out of date, incorrect information that cost me more time than anything.

When I first starting Bidclerk I was able to get project information weeks/months ahead of the market (as intended) but as each year came, the cost of my subscription continued to increase and the quality of information dropped dramatically!

Projects weren't being listed ahead of time. I would learn about new projects in our area in the local paper before it was even on Bidclerk.

50% of the projects currently listed on Bidclerk are out of date & haven't been updated in months!

A project listed as 'in the bidding process' is usually already in progress.

It's a waste of time to call GC Bidders on a project only hear that they didn't receive the bid & that project started 3 weeks ago.

BidClerk has completely given up on updating their projects.

They grew too fast & cut too many corners in the process.

Signing agreements with companies like Choice Hotels International as a part of a promotional package has clouded their judgement as well as their performance.

I've reached out to Bidclerk support numerous times to express my concerns because I teach other businesses how to use this site. It's now to the point that I don't even want to teach others about a half-*** website that won't really help anyone & will only deprive them of hours of searching & calling on businesses about projects that are already underway or were cancelled months ago.

If I had one recommendation: Try a free trial period but make sure you don't get billed in advance because they will try to bill you!

If you're a small business owner, spend your time & money somewhere else!

Bidclerk is NOT what it used to be & unfortunately it will never recover.

I used Bidclerk as well. I loved them 5 years agao.

I understand they "merged" with ISQFT and CMD/REED. 3 large players in the field.

I have had the same problems.

I was told by a former employee that the research employee head count is down, moral is way down, layoffs and cut backs. Bidclerk is being disolved into a new company - head quartered in Cincinnati, OH and not Chicago.

Bidclerk will probably cease to exist in the next quarter or two as ISQFT (or a new name).

And YES they are raising rates drastically to reflect ISQFT rates.

You can understand why no one cares about Bidclerk.

I have been a client of theirs for 1 year. At first I started with $154 dollars.

The past two months I am now at 194.00. They just merged with isqft and CDC and a few others, and are now calling their pricing competitive. Its a joke if you ask me. I paid for it because it was cheap but nothing put typos and inaccuracy from my end.

I am a small company and I cannot afford $900 per month for ONE state.

Right now I have VA, SC, NC and MD and I don't pay that much for one. ITs just ridiculous

Bidclerk/Stay away unless you like being billed unknowingly.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I subscribed to their services a year ago. I have not had much use for the service and was just waiting out the year for the service to be over.

They recently charged me for a second year of service in full. When I noticed the charge on my card I reached out to them immediately to ask them to cancel my service since I did not need it and did not realize I had been put on automatic renewal. They informed me that it was not their policy to give refunds and refused to credit me. I have no problem paying for the year I didn't use it but agreed to the purchase.

But I refuse to pay for the upcoming year I have no intention of using! I recorded a complaint with the BBB.

I have never had an issue getting a credit before when I was automatically charge a renewal if I called right away. There are far to may companies out there to get job info from to deal with Bidclerk and their dishonest billing practices.

You should look at your terms and conditions before signing. Most subscriptions auto-renew unless you CANCEL before the renewal date.

Very common. Your loss. What did your credit card company say? Why did not charge it back.

I bet you had a signed CONTRACT. This is your fault and not the company

Jumped My Subscription Price Tenfold

My salesman, Chris Sirhall jumped my subscription price tenfold. When questioned he said that I was getting great pricing and nobody should have ever given it to me.

With that being said, he had no explanation as to why it would or should go up so much, other than the fact that it is a good product when compared to its competitors.

I asked if I did a "secret shop" would I get better pricing and I was told that they didn't know because that was a different department. I would be very careful as to how much you pay for this service to make sure you aren't getting ripped off.

Same ting happened to me. I was told they were "merging" with a company ISQFT.com and they everyone will now have to pay ISQFT.com pricing going forward.

This is probably what happened to you.

We quit as the data is not that good. The scheduling is always wrong and the contacts are bad on a large # of projects.

Guest

I had the same issue. Cancelled all bidclerk.

Guest

This happened to me as well. Buyer beware.

Guest

This jokers ran out of money and had to merge with ISQFT. No one will pay Bidclerk rates anymore.

Bidclerk has all of become really expensive. Try signing up at their site - it's over $1,000 now per state.

It used to be like $700 for the entire USA. Scam.

Guest

Just got a call from Chris Sirhall to discuss my subscription. He said my price hadn't gone up since I started 4 years ago.

Not true. My subscription for national coverage is now going up more than 20X and that is for only 4-10 states. Gave me 48 hours to decide. Said I had some $ credit for this quarter so they are not even honoring what I already paid for.

I've been considering dropping them anyway and this seals the deal. Their info is frequently inaccurate. Wrong contacts, wrong project phase. Many have no specs.

I'm a small sub-contractor so Bid-Clerk is totally cost prohibitive now.

Remains to be seen if I get my credit.

Bid Clerks Project Estimations are way off

We recently just canceled our Bidclerk subscription. We bid on 3 jobs, the first was listed on Bidclerk as a $375,000 job the winning bid was $175,000.

The last job we bid on there was listed less than $1,000,000 and it went at $10,000,000. We didn't land a single job in 3 months. We were looking for private jobs and they only really have public jobs available which you can find elsewhere and dont have to pay their monthly fee.

Also they let you know about jobs so late you don't really have the time to bid on them. Do not use Bidclerk they are not worth your time or your money.

Bid Clerk advertises a 3 day trial, on the 4th day they bang your card for $100.00 AND WON'T QUIT UNTIL YOU CANCEL UNDER THEIR TERMS!!! Bid Clerk Sucks!

This company is a big scam, they rip off people by charging their cards and will not stop even when you notify them this is rediculous. Do not buy this product, buy the Dodge or CDC news but don't buy this wrag of a scam. Hate getting ripped off over the internet.

Kept billing me until I cancelled my credit card.

I had the same problem. I tried to cancel and they said they owuld. Bidclerk kept billing me and billing me. Apparently after many web searches I have found hundreds of other complaints like this.

I needed leads for my constuction business, but found much of their information ver inacurate. The worst part of the service is the start/bid date - 100s of projects that already started and they claimed they were new.

They did ot offer a refund either. "it was my fault" and I called them 5 times.

The peopel i spoke with donot seem interested or happy with their jobs. Be careful.

BidClerk is a liar!

BidClerk is one of the worst companies. It can not help at all. You can get those leads easily from Federal, State, County, City government sites easily, or just call and ask.

To spend those money is nonsense.

And they always automactically renew your membership fees and charge your monthly fee as well immediately, without even a notice.

The company also lie, say that the customer service tried call, but couldn't reach me. I checked my records, never had phone call from them.

A cheating Internet Marketing Business!

Bidclerk rip off

I have subscribed with bidclerk for last 12 months, at the beginning, I was told my contract was month to month basis, last month they renew my contract with out me knowing and started to charge me more for one service that is worthless, had this service hoping I could get some work, but their contacts never answer phones or emails,it is only good for others to contact you to sell you merchandise you do not need. Bottom line Bidclerk is a rip off do not let them get you.Paid a whole year and never got any work from their site. And be overcareful they are going to sign you up without you know into a year contract, and if try to get off they are going to charge for that.
